Master the Art of Radiant Skin with Nathalie Eleni

Renowned for her transformative Get the Glow facial, the celebrity skincare specialist shares her step-by-step guide to achieving a red-carpet-worthy complexion, tried and tested by YLA on a wellness cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line.

Celebrated for her transformative approach to achieving radiant, healthy skin, Nathalie Eleni’s expertise has made her a go-to name in the beauty industry, frequently sought after for red-carpet prep and high-profile events. Her signature Get the Glow facial combines mini massage techniques to simulate circulation with deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation and nourishing products (use what you have in your beauty arsenal). Beauty Editor Ingrid Wood recently met Nathalie on a wellness cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line, for which she is a beauty ambassador, and got the lowdown on how to do it:

STEP 1:

Cleanse your face to remove any makeup or impurities. Apply a few drops of facial oil to a cleanser to provide more slip if needed. Start with small circular movements behind the collar bone to pump the lymphatic drainage, circling from the centre and working outwards. Circle up and down the chin and across décolleté. Circle around the eyes.

STEP 2:

Hold a warm, damp flannel over your face for 30 seconds to help dissolve impurities and makeup. Gently wipe away, working outwards, upwards, and downwards from the centre of the face. Don’t drag the skin.

STEP 3:

The second cleanse is more energetic and works to stimulate collagen production, help the lymphatic system, tone and exercise the muscles, and remove any residual product that may still be congesting the skin. On damp hands, apply your cleansing balm generously, adding some oil if you need extra slip or water. Rub your hands together and apply them to the face to evenly distribute the product. Start moving in small circular motions from the inside outwards, beginning at the nose and around it, working into any areas of impurities, and then massaging outwards towards the ears, temples, and jaw. Always use light movements, oscillating forwards and backwards.

STEP 4:

Under the chin, use flat hands to make scooping upward motions. Take your fingertips under the chin and slide them in the opposite direction to help lift upwards and support the lymphatic drainage system under each jawline. Move to the collarbone and perform some gentle pumping movements behind it; this will help get the circulation going and act as a channel to draw everything down. After that, lightly glide your hands upwards and downwards along the neck in slow, gentle movements to encourage drainage.

STEP 5:

Add more water to your hands if necessary, then perform some prayer movements. Place your hands in a prayer position, resting your chin on top, and then slide your hands along the sides of your face and the jawline to create an upward-lifting movement. This helps to release tension, elongate the muscles, and promote drainage.

STEP 6:

To release tension around the eye area gently pinch along your eyebrows with your thumb and index finger, from the inner part and working outwards. As you pinch, lift a little upwards to stretch the muscles, release tension, and provide an instant eye lift. I also like to use my ring finger, which exerts the least amount of pressure, to press at the base of the inner tear duct on either side of the nose. Then, gently pump along under the eye to the temple and drain down to the collarbones.
