It has been 30 years since Mini launched the original Convertible. In the three decades since, the droptop model has seen several iterations and has grown in size and popularity. To mark the 30th anniversary of the open-top four-seater, Mini is introducing a special edition featuring an exclusive exterior paint colour, two-tone wheels, and unique decals. Called the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition, it is available in an exclusive shimmering blue Caribbean Aqua paint finish as well as a Nanuq White exterior colour option. Other features that set the special edition apart from the stock model include unique decals such as a ‘Seaside’ rear motif, front and side scuttles, stickers at the rear and door sills, and a set of 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke design that apparently evokes ocean waves.

The Seaside Edition features double decorative stripes in white running across the side doors all the way to the rear of the car, and a unique ‘30’ graphic on the front apron and wheel caps in a nod to the milestone anniversary. The side scuttle gets subtle graphics in light and dark blue, while the rear features exclusive ‘Seaside’ lettering in orange. Offered in Cooper S specification, the special edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 176bhp and 280Nm of torque and helps the car accelerate from 0-100kph in just 7.2 seconds.

Exclusive graphic details are carried over to the cabin too, including decorative trim strips on the doors and dashboard, and a special badge on the floor mats apart from the ‘Seaside’ inscription on the lower spoke of the leather steering wheel. The interior gets Carbon Black leather seats that contrast the light exterior colour options exquisitely when the soft top is open. The key also gets special treatment, featuring edition-specific graphic wave patterns in iridescent blue tones, apparently reminiscent of the “open atmosphere and the pure elegance of the sea”.

The car also comes equipped with Mini’s latest operating system, which improves vehicle functions, and equipment packages that enhance driver assistance and connectivity.

With first deliveries expected from March 2023, the Seaside Edition will carry a price tag of £34,500.
