As summer’s energy gently fades, autumn eases into a quieter rhythm, preparing the way for winter’s rest. At La Motte, this transition is marked through seasonal moments that celebrate an enduring love for art, food, and wine.

Succumb to the #SlowSwirl of Chardonnay
Some wines demand a slower, more deliberate swirl — and Chardonnay leads the way. Its radiant golden hue creates a mesmerising spectacle, particularly when poured into a varietal-specific glass. Yet the swirl offers more than visual pleasure; it opens up the wine, releasing delicate aromas that rise effortlessly to meet the senses. In the La Motte Tasting Room, Riedel Chardonnay glasses are used to enhance swirl, aroma, and taste.
Guests are invited to visit the La Motte Tasting Room throughout May. Sharing a swirl using #slowswirl offers a chance to win six bottles of La Motte Reserve Chardonnay and two Riedel glasses, valued at R2 500.
A Sensory Experience on the Horizon
Inspired by the current art exhibition, Van Horison tot Horison, La Motte presents a curated sensory journey.
The experience begins with an introduction in the La Motte Ateljee, followed by a horizontal Chardonnay tasting led by Cellarmaster Edmund Terblanche. The evening continues with dinner at L’Ami Family Brasserie, inspired by the surrounding landscape, the artworks on display, and La Motte’s wines — including a selection from the estate’s Reserve Collection and Rupert Vinoteque.
R1 350 per person.
