- In October 2022, Lamborghini ceased production of one of the greatest supercars ever, the Aventador. Now, the Sant’Agata Bolognese supercar maker has revealed the successor to this iconic nameplate, the Revuelto, a V12 plug-in hybrid supercar.
- A major step in the carmaker’s electrification strategy, the Revuelto joins the Sian in having a V12 engine mated to a plug-in hybrid system. In the Revuelto, the system comprises three electric motors and a 3.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack housed within the central transmission tunnel.
- At 281kg, the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated L545 engine is the lightest 12-cylinder engine built by Lamborghini and the most powerful at 825 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. In combination with the electric motors, it puts out 1,015 horsepower. Channelling this power to all four wheels is a transversely mounted eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, a first for a 12-cylinder Lamborghini.
- “The new Revuelto is a milestone in the history of Lamborghini and an important pillar in our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO. “It is a unique and innovative car but at the same time faithful to our DNA: the V12 is an iconic symbol of our super sports heritage and history.”
- Carbon fibre has been used extensively in the Revuelto’s ‘monofuselage’ and frame, as well as in several parts of the bodywork including door and bumpers. This has contributed to the Revuelto boasting the best weight-to-power ratio in the brand’s history.
- The hybrid system’s extraordinary output and lightweight construction help the Revuelto dart from a standstill to 100kph in just 2.5 seconds and hit 200kph in under 7 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 350kph.
- Lamborghini says the Revuleto introduces a new design language that blends the styling of legendary V12 cars of yore such as the Countach, Diablo, and the Murciélago with new proportions that offer a glimpse of the brand’s future styling direction.
- The Revuelto also offers a host of personalisation options including 400 exterior colours. The cabin gets a generous dose of carbon fibre, including on the dashboard and the hexagonal air vents. The upholstery is a blend of leather and Dinamica microfibre.
