  1. Lamborghini is expected to launch its first hybrid supercar in the next few weeks. While this is good news for those looking to own and drive a relatively greener supercar from Lamborghini, this also means the legendary V12 that has embodied the spirit of the raging bull for many petrolheads will be gone. Although the Italian supercar maker announced the V12’s end of production in September 2022, a final pair of V12-powered, Aventador-based super sports cars have now been revealed as a final farewell to the naturally-aspirated V12 engine.

  1. The two one-off cars – the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster – have been decked out by Lamborghini Centro Stile, employing all the design cues that have contributed to the V12 platform’s iconic status and reflecting its racetrack-inspired character.

  1. Invencible and Auténtica draw their inspiration from masterpieces of Lamborghini design, the Sesto Elemento and its large rear wing; the Reventón with its distinctive aeronautical style; and the Veneno, with its pursuit of aerodynamic perfection.

  1. Describing the V12 engine as one of the pillars of Lamborghini’s history and the marque’s success, Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO said the two one-off cars are the best way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 as the brand heads towards embracing a new era of hybridisation.

  1. The new cars share the same carbon fibre monocoque as the Aventador, and the full carbon bodywork tested by Lamborghini in motorsport. The striking bonnet and the prominent front splitter with vertical struts to direct airflow take cues from the Essenza SCV12. The designers have also seamlessly integrated the brand’s signature hexagon motif into the visual elements of the cars.

  1. The hexagonal elements are carried over to the cabin too with the 3D-printed air vents, while the dashboard is kept minimal with the console devoid of any instrumentation. The interior is given the same colour treatment as the bodywork, with Alcantara and two-tone upholstery adding to the overall character.

  1. The Invencible and Auténtica will be the last cars to be built by Lamborghini with the 12-cylinder 6.5-litre engine mounted longitudinally in the rear (Longitudinale Posteriore: ‘LP’), delivering 780 horsepower and 720Nm of torque.
