From Milan to Mumbai, January 2026 Sets the Tempo for Global Watchmaking

The year opens with two landmark events in the world of fine watchmaking — one in Europe’s luxury capital, the other in a rapidly rising collector market.

India Watch Weekend 2026 opens its second edition at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai on January 17 and 18. Organised by The Hour Markers, the event brings together 16 brands ranging from A. Lange & Söhne and Jaeger-LeCoultre to independent creators such as Ming, Genus and Laine Watches.

“India Watch Weekend was born from a simple belief — that the watch community in India deserves a space beyond launches and showcases. It’s about creating a place where knowledge is shared, stories are celebrated, and genuine connections are forged,” says Karishma Karer, Co-Founder, India Watch Weekend.

With the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) participating officially for the first time and export figures to India continuing their upward trajectory, the event reflects a market entering confident maturity. “India Watch Weekend is a powerful reminder that watchmaking culture resonates far beyond Switzerland,” notes Pascal Ravessoud, Vice President, FHH.

Jan Edöcs, CEO of Doxa, notes that India was among the first markets to embrace the brand after its relaunch, and that the passion and discernment of its collectors left a lasting impression. Returning for India Watch Weekend 2026, he suggests, feels less like a market entry and more like reconnecting with long-standing supporters of the Sub story.

Sébastien Billières, Founder and Master Watchmaker of Genus, explains that the brand was created to rethink how time is displayed, using movement, craftsmanship and imagination as its language. India Watch Weekend, he says, offers a natural platform to share that philosophy with an audience attuned to both creative expression and horological substance.

Meanwhile, the seventh edition of LVMH Watch Week runs in Milan from 19 to 21 January, transforming Via Montenapoleone into a discreet yet formidable stage for the group’s watchmaking maisons. Bvlgari Horologie, TAG Heuer, Zenith, Hublot, Louis Vuitton, Daniel Roth, Gérald Genta, L’épée 1839, and Tiffany & Co. will unveil their latest creations in their own boutiques, reinforcing the intimacy and exclusivity that have become signatures of the format.

LVMH Watch Week was launched in Dubai in 2020. It has evolved from a travelling showcase into a strategic touchpoint for collectors and industry leaders alike. Previous editions have been staged in Singapore, Miami, Paris and New York.

Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of LVMH Watches and Bvlgari, emphasised that the coming year will be marked by ambitious launches and rare, high-end pieces across the portfolio — each maison distinct in character, yet united by a shared creative drive and a long-term vision for watchmaking excellence. This is on the back of the group’s recent success at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2025, where brands scooped awards across multiple categories, underscoring the group’s creative strength and technical range.

For watch enthusiasts, Milan and Mumbai frame a compelling start to 2026 — one an established luxury destination, the other shaped by a new generation of informed, engaged collectors.
