A new chapter has been penned, one rooted in a century of singular style.
A Legacy in Every Thread
Tailoring is where it all began. In 1910, Ermenegildo Zegna founded his namesake brand in Trivero, northern Italy, with a vision that transcended cloth. He dreamed not only of crafting the world’s finest fabrics but of weaving a unique philosophy into every thread. For him, style was not merely about appearance; it was about how a man moved through the world with intention, dignity, and innate elegance.
The Birth of Torino Style
This philosophy took shape in a tailor’s workshop in Torino, where the founder would bring his own exquisite cloths to life. It was here that his distinctive manner of dress emerged, setting new benchmarks for refinement. On one occasion — an invitation to the city’s most prestigious theatre, the Teatro Regio di Torino — he commissioned something extraordinary. That request was more than a garment; it was the genesis of a legacy. From it, the very first expression of “Torino style” was born.
The Torino Style Returns
More than a century later, Zegna honours that legacy with a defining new chapter. For FW25, the house presents the “Torino style”, inspired directly by the founder’s original suit. Structured shoulders, generous lapels, and precise construction define the look. Signature details include three-button sleeves, a higher buttonhole inspired by the iconic 232 Road brand mark, and rounded pockets in flap and patch versions.
Tailoring as Discipline
This is the essence of the Torino difference: a recognisable, refined suit designed to endure. Every line pays tribute to the man who set the standard. From its start, tailoring at Zegna has never been about following trends — it has always been about setting them.
This is tailoring as a practice. A discipline. A belief in doing things well and doing them with immense care. At the heart of the FW25 collection lies a suit constructed with couture-level techniques: hand-finished trousers, pure silk linings, and the architectural precision that defines the house. The flannel cloth is so supremely soft it feels weightless, yet the fit remains exacting.
A Return to Torino
To mark this moment, Zegna returns to Torino. The brand’s Global Ambassador, Mads Mikkelsen, stars in the new campaign, shot within the hallowed halls of the Teatro Regio di Torino and against the serene Alpine landscape beyond. He embodies the Zegna man: composed, confident, and connected to something deeper. Torino itself epitomises Zegna’s interpretation of Italianità — a quiet elegance that is both effortless and exact, rooted in a distinct culture of taste. It is a way of being that needs no fanfare, secure in the knowledge of where it belongs.
Defining What a Suit Can Be
For Zegna, style is never just visual. It is generational. Emotional. Exact. The house does not simply make suits — it defines what a suit can be.
