The Bentley marque has broadened its horizons significantly over the years, with the luxury label being seen used in furniture and homeware, and even bicycles for children that are apparently inspired by the Continental GT. However, the most inexpensive way to ‘own’ a Bentley has always been the miniature replicas of its range of cars that the Crewe automaker releases periodically. Usually priced between £100 and £150, the 1:43 scale models are the most popular among Bentley customers as well as aspiring enthusiasts of the brand.
The latest miniatures to join this list are 1:43 scale models of the Continental GT Speed and the limited-edition Bacalar by Mulliner supercar. Like all Bentley miniatures these are also superbly detailed and seem to have been replicated using the original design files of the full-size cars.
The Continental GT Speed scale model comes wearing beautiful Candy Red paintwork, glossy detailing, and carbon fibre styling specification. Even the cabin has been reproduced faithfully, featuring the sporty Hotspur interior trim and custom Speed embroidery with the signature diamond quilting design added to the seats.
But what would be most fascinating for Bentley fans is the affordable and more importantly accessible miniature version of the Bacalar, as all 12 examples of the coach-built barchetta are already sold out for a staggering £1.8 million each.
Although the full-size model offered customers infinite personalisation options, the scale model is only available in a Yellow Flame exterior paint finish. But Bentley says this choice pays homage to the innovative sustainable ‘colourstream’ paint that was specially developed to highlight the form and contours of the full-scale Bacalar.
Attention to detail can be seen in the Satin Bronze trim, the wraparound cockpit and the Grey Tweed and Beluga cabin colour scheme used in the miniature. The intricate patterns and detailing are sure to impress Bentley connoisseurs and miniature collectors alike.
