It’s almost a year until the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team crosses the start line of the 37th America’s Cup in August 2024. As their official sponsor, Panerai continues to innovate with new materials and technology to craft gender-neutral tool watches that support their endeavours.
“Our collaboration with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team represents the perfect union of two brands that share the same spirit of innovation, passion for excellence, and love for the sea. Through our common values, we aim to inspire and empower contemporary navigators, pushing boundaries and exceeding limits to pursue their dreams,” says Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué.
Blue and red are the principal colour codes of the new timepieces, reflecting the oceanic environment and Luna Rossa’s official colour. “These timepieces embody the shared legacy of Panerai and the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, and we are honoured that our official sponsor has once again found inspiration from our bond with the sea,” says Max Sirena, team director and skipper of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. “With their unmistakable design and cutting-edge functionality, these watches will serve as our indispensable companions throughout our journey towards success in the 37th America’s Cup.”
The Luminor Luna Rossa Quaranta PAM01408 has a black 40mm steel DLC (diamond-like carbon) case and a blue sun-brushed dial featuring the date at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The automatic P.900 calibre achieves a three-day power reserve.
Travellers will love the Luminor Luna Rossa Quaranta BiTempo PAM01404 with its two time zones, red-tipped GMT hand and blue sun-brushed dial. It is equipped with the P.900/GMT calibre, which builds up a three-day power reserve.
Meanwhile, adventurers who want in on the sailing adventure have 37 opportunities to secure an immersion experience in Cagliari, which is curated by the Maison. The Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono Carbotech PAM01519 is set in a 44mm case with a blue sun-brushed dial and speed tachymeter scale, which measures the average speed of the yacht over a defined distance. The limited edition celebrates the 37th America’s Cup with the same number of timepieces, each accompanied by an NFT containing information to support their experience, such as a specific training card, technical details on the watch, a warranty booklet, and an artwork created by the Panerai Studio.
Two additions to the Luminor Due collection are powered by the automatic P.900 calibre with a three-day power reserve. The PAM01378 is presented in a polished 38mm steel case and fastened with a white Saffiano leather strap that bears the team’s name and logo, while the PAM01381 has a polished 42mm steel case and grey bi-material strap. Both timepieces have matte white sandwich dials that feature the Panerai logo, the inscription Luna Rossa, and numerals and indices in dark grey Super-LumiNova®.
The watches are all boutique exclusives.
