Tastemakers & Trailblazers: March ’25 Edition

This issue is a tribute to the visionaries shaping culture, shifting mindsets, and creating impact. We’re shining a spotlight on Africa’s finest tastemakers — those who not only reach extraordinary heights but also extend a hand to lift others along the way.

Our cover star, Siphesihle November, is a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada but grew up in the township of Zolani in the Western Cape. Siphe will be performing in South Africa this March with Cape Ballet Africa.

The people of influence we celebrate here move with purpose, collaborate fearlessly, and leave the door wide open for the next generation. Meet the audacious, the collaborative, the undeniably talented. This is about influence that matters.

We hope this issue inspires you to chase your dreams and to dare to be yourself. Perhaps next time it’ll be you!

MY TOP PICKS

  1. I never thought I’d ever say this, but I’m obsessed with this fanny-pack in the shape of our beautiful continent from the Ghanaian fashion brand Orijin Culture.
  2. The collaboration we didn’t know we needed, Thebe Magugu and Weylandts, have come together to combine design with fashion and celebrate South African craftmanship.
  3. Philippa Green is one of my favourite jewellery designers, and to ask me to choose one thing would be unfair. I want all the rings; ALL the rings!
