Celebrating South African artistry and excellence, YourLuxury Africa, in association with Strauss & Co, hosted an exclusive evening honouring Siphesihle November, the luxury magazine’s March cover star and principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada. The event took place on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the incredible gallery space of Strauss & Co in Cape Town, bringing together leading figures from music, dance, publishing, and visual arts.
The evening paid tribute to November’s journey from South Africa to global acclaim. His homecoming this time involved a plan to perform with Cape Ballet Africa in Nacho Duato’s Remanso, as part of their Breathwords season at the Artscape Opera. Guests were welcomed into an intimate yet refined setting, with Bina Genovese, director at Strauss & Co, extending warm hospitality on behalf of the hosts. The gallery was adorned with fresh flowers and infused with the scent of Acqua di Parma Colonia diffusers and candles.
A highlight of the night was an insightful panel discussion led by YourLuxury Africa watch and jewellery writer and arts journalist Debbie Hathway, who expertly guided the conversation with November, offering guests a deeper understanding of his career, inspirations, and artistic philosophy. “It was such a wonderful evening! Debbie led an interesting and engaging panel talk with Siphe, drawing the best from him about his career and success,” said Yvonne Shaff, MD of YourLuxury Africa.
Wines from sponsors Delaire Graff and Moedi Wines complemented the harvest table perfectly, enhancing the evening’s elegance. Among the honoured guests were Cape Ballet Africa director Debbie Turner, world-renowned choreographer Nacho Duato, South African artist and composer Mandisi Dyantyis, Khanyisile Mbongwa, the 2025 curator of The Stellenbosch Triennale, and artist Ronald Muchatuta.
The evening highlighted the power of collaboration and the global influence of South African talent. With November’s remarkable achievements as the focal point, the event was a testament to the intersection of dance, art, and culture, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.
