Timeless Romance: Breitling’s Chronomat Is the Perfect Valentine’s Gift

This Valentine’s Day, surprise your loved one with a Chronomat – whether it’s a bold, NBA-inspired edition by Giannis Antetokounmpo or an elegantly crafted model adorned with sustainable diamonds.

We shouldn’t need a reason to gift something special to the focus of our affection, but Valentine’s Day is a good motivation. Nobody will complain when they open a watch box (in sustainable packaging) from Breitling, especially if it’s one of these versions of the Chronomat.

The larger models were designed in collaboration with NBA superstar and Breitling ambassador Giannis Antetokounmpo, channelling his style and sense of self.  His signature watches are available in a 40mm steel Chronomat GMT, limited to 1 750 pieces, and a 42mm gold Chronomat B01 chronograph, limited to 250 pieces.

Notable details include the “GA” initials on the central hand and the basketball emblem worked into the chronograph counter and the dial shade reminiscent of his Milwaukee Bucks Good Land green team colour.

Antetokounmpo’s signature is on the GMT caseback, while the chronograph presents a view of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement and its golden rotor. This model is paired with a green rubber Rouleaux strap or an 18k red gold bracelet. The Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap is a first for the Chronomat B01 range, a sporty alternative to the classic metal option.

For smaller wrists, the Chronomat 28 is Breitling’s take on the ‘80s classic with more dial options, sustainable and traceable lab-grown diamonds, and signature raised rider tabs at the 15-minute marks on the bezel. Dial options include mother-of-pearl in blue or pink with lab-grown-diamond indexes, stainless steel with a black mother-of-pearl dial and a lab-grown-diamond-set bezel and indexes, and two-tone stainless steel and 18 K red gold. Its SuperQuartz Caliber 72-powered chronometer is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC).
