The range of colours showcased on today’s watch dials and straps supports the watchmakers’ desire to offer fans mood-boosting variety in their favourite accessories. Dreaming up new shades and reinterpreting traditionally popular colourways are part of the package, some adding to the fun with interchangeable straps.
Panerai Luminor Due Pastello
The Luminor Due Pastello collection by Panerai combines urban style with its heritage of precision timepieces. The Maison introduces modern pastel dials for the first time in its history, enclosed in a 38mm steel case with a distinctive metal bracelet. The sandwich dials, filled with luminescent Super-Luminova for improved legibility in the dark, display the date and small seconds. Meanwhile, the metal bracelet is inspired by Panerai’s crown-protection device, offering a refined touch. Each bracelet link bears the iconic semi-oval profile of the safety-lock system. These slimmer, lighter, and sleeker Luminor Due watches retain mechanical precision, powered by the automatic P.900 calibre with a three-day power reserve. They are available exclusively in Panerai boutiques, with 500 pieces per dial shade per year.
Blancpain Ladybird Colors
Blancpain’s Ladybird Colors collection offers vibrant hour markers and eye-catching interchangeable straps to match one’s mood. The collection features a glorious mother-of-pearl dial adorned with 70 diamonds. A small seconds subdial on the lower half of the dial balances the larger-sized rainbow-coloured hour markers in the top half. Their shades are painstakingly printed at least five times to achieve the required finish. They are complemented by five alligator-leather straps in lemon-sorbet yellow, raspberry pink, apple green, midnight blue and white. The 18-carat white-gold case, set with 59 diamonds, houses the decorated 1163 automatic movement. It provides a 100-hour power reserve visible through the sapphire crystal case back, combining colourful style with technical excellence. The Ladybird model is water-resistant to around 30 metres.
Breitling Navitimer 36mm and 32mm
Breitling’s additions to the Navitimer collection in smaller 36mm and 32mm sizes feature pastel colours, mother-of-pearl dials, and sustainable materials. The iconic beaded bezel offers a jewellery-like appeal. The Navitimer Automatic 36 comes in metallic dial colours (mint green, silver, and anthracite) with baton indexes or a white mother-of-pearl dial set with round-cut “better diamonds”. It is powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 17. Meanwhile, the Navitimer 32 boasts mother-of-pearl dials in powdery pink and light blue – a first for Breitling – and white. It runs on the precise Breitling Calibre 77 SuperQuartz movement and offers 50-metre water resistance. Both models are made with “better diamonds” and “better gold,” carrying the Origins label, which is a marker of their precious materials’ product integrity.
