This October, Patek Philippe invites collectors and the curious to step inside the world of the last independent, family-owned watch manufacture in Geneva — but this time in Italy. Spanning more than 2 500 square metres, the Watch Art Grand Exhibition Milan 2026 promises a rare, behind-the-scenes encounter with one of horology’s most revered names.
Launched 14 years ago, the Grand Exhibition concept reflects the maison’s longstanding commitment to sharing its craft with the public. With free admission, the travelling showcase has previously stopped in Dubai, Munich, London, New York, Singapore, and Tokyo, attracting around 165 000 visitors to date. For its seventh edition, the brand turns to Milan — a city whose culture of craftsmanship, design, and fashion aligns naturally with Patek Philippe’s “tradition of innovation”, upheld since 1839. Italy has long been a stronghold market, home to collectors who value technical virtuosity as much as artisanal finesse.
From 2 to 18 October 2026, the exhibition will unfold at the newly restored Palazzo delle Scintille, now known as City Oval, in the heart of the CityLife district. Beneath its soaring 30-metre dome, visitors will move through immersive themed spaces that recreate the manufacture’s historic addresses: the Rue du Rhône headquarters, the production site in Plan-les-Ouates, and the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva.
Around 500 timepieces and objects will be presented, including the entire current collection, from emblematic designs to the manufacture’s most complex mechanical achievements. A dedicated Rare Handcrafts showcase will feature dome clocks, pocket watches, and wristwatches adorned with miniature painting on enamel, cloisonné enamel, hand engraving, wood marquetry, guilloché work, and gem-setting, with artisans demonstrating their skills live.
Exceptional pieces from the Patek Philippe Museum’s Antique and Modern collections will also be on display, charting watchmaking history dating from the 16th century. Look out for complicated watches such as the Grandmaster Chime, with 20 complications, and the Sky Moon Tourbillon, showcasing the maison’s mastery of sound and mechanical innovation. Limited editions created exclusively for this exhibition will be launched here too.
