Bermudian ketch Eilean is celebrating a 90th-anniversary comeback, alongside the revival of the watch-brand association that began with the Laureus Regatta Panerai Trophy in Monaco in 2005. A powerful expression of Panerai’s maritime heritage, she remained closely associated with the brand through the Classic Yachts Challenge, a regatta series that ran for 14 years and in which Eilean participated from 2010.
Now, following her launch in Viareggio, the ketch’s Mediterranean journey continues with appearances at Argentario Sailing Week in Porto Santo Stefano (24–28 June), Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona (8–11 July), and the XXXI Regata Illes Balears Clàssics in Palma de Mallorca (11–15 August), before concluding at Les Régates Royales de Cannes (20–27 September).
Built in 1936 by the renowned Fife shipyard in Scotland, Eilean occupies a special place in Panerai’s history. Acquired and meticulously restored by the brand, she has become a floating ambassador for the values that have defined Panerai for generations: technical reliability, nautical expertise, and an enduring connection to the sea.
That heritage is reflected in the Radiomir collection, whose origins date back to the first Radiomir prototype developed in 1935 for the Royal Italian Navy. Conceived as an underwater military instrument, the watch evolved into what many regard as the archetypal captain’s watch, equally at home on deck as it is in the world of fine watchmaking.
Created to mark Eilean’s 90th anniversary and return to the regatta circuit, the Radiomir Bronzo PAM00760 draws inspiration from both stories. Its 47mm bronze case recalls the dimensions of the historic Ref. 2533 prototype, while the grainy, shaded green dial evokes the colours of classic sailing. Historically prized in yacht construction for its durability and resistance to seawater, bronze has long been associated with maritime life. It is also one of Panerai’s signature materials, having helped pioneer the luxury watch industry’s fascination with bronze through landmark models such as the Luminor Submersible Bronzo PAM00382 in 2011.
Like a classic yacht weathered by years at sea, the PAM00760 develops a unique patina over time, ensuring that every watch acquires a character entirely its own.
