At first glance, Bvlgari’s Divas’ Dream novelties are an ode to feminine elegance. Look more closely, however, and the collection reveals a richer story – one of ancient Roman artistry, engineering, and gemstone craftsmanship that rewards a second glance.
The familiar Divas’ Dream fan has roots in the ginkgo leaf, whose symbolism crosses Mediterranean and Asian cultures. This year, Bvlgari looks closer to home too, drawing inspiration from the mosaics of ancient Rome. Pink gold frames double-sided mother-of-pearl elements, with softly rounded surfaces designed to catch the light from every angle.
Then there is the craftsmanship hidden beneath the surface. The treatment of the mother-of-pearl element is intended to reflect light from multiple directions. Each hardstone and precious gemstone in the mosaic creations is individually selected and precisely cut before being assembled into vibrant compositions of turquoise, chrysoprase, tanzanite, and pavé diamonds. It is meticulous work that is largely invisible once complete – precisely as the finest craftsmanship should be.
Finally, Divas’ Dream embraces versatility as confidently as beauty. A new pendant necklace can be worn at three different lengths – from a short necklace to a sautoir – while the wider collection encourages layering, mixing, and personal styling rather than reserving fine jewellery for special occasions alone.
