In 2024, H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports launched a partnership that defied the norms of typical collaborations between watchmakers and automotive brands. Rather than simply swapping logos or using flashy materials, the two teams committed to a joint engineering project rooted in performance, precision, and purpose. The guiding question? How can a 200-year-old Swiss watchmaker meaningfully support a Formula 1 and endurance racing team?
The answer comes in two bold creations unveiled during the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, where, incidentally, Pierre Gasly claimed eighth for Alpine: the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition. Each reflects a different aspect of motorsport while staying true to H. Moser & Cie.’s avant-garde watchmaking spirit.
The Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition was designed in close consultation with Alpine’s F1 drivers. Powered by a skeletonised version of the AgenGraphe calibre developed with Agenhor, this high-performance chronograph celebrates transparency – literally and metaphorically. Its open dial reveals the mechanics within, with striking blue and white accents echoing Alpine’s identity. Every detail has been engineered with intent, from the V-shaped bridges, which reference single-seater suspension systems, to a rotor shaped like an A110 wheel rim. Function meets finesse in its Flyback chronograph with a central minute and seconds display, delivering absolute legibility at top speed.
Meanwhile, the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition is an unprecedented leap in horological functionality. Created as a true instrument for Alpine’s pit crew and support teams (the first of its kind), it merges digital and mechanical worlds. From an understated black screen that awakens to reveal race-specific functions, such as F1 countdowns, GMT, and a perpetual calendar, to a domed Funky Blue fumé dial with a traditional time display, this hybrid device is designed for real-world performance. It syncs via Bluetooth, runs independently on both Android and iOS and boasts a power reserve designed to last a racing season.
