Breitling has rejoined Formula 1 through a recently announced collaboration with Aston Martin and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. As Official Watch Partner, this connects the brand’s chronograph heritage with the precision engineering of modern Formula 1.
The partnership extends across the broader Aston Martin universe, from performance cars handcrafted in Gaydon and St Athan to the team’s campaign on the Formula 1 circuit. It launches with the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, a limited edition marking Breitling’s return to the sport.
The relationship reflects long-standing parallels between the two marques. Both were founded on a fascination with speed: in 1907, Léon Breitling introduced the Vitesse chronograph, capable of measuring speeds up to 250 kilometres per hour, while in England Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford established Aston Martin after competing in the hill climb at Aston Hill.
The worlds of aviation, motorsport, and chronograph timing have also intersected over the decades. When the Navitimer was introduced in 1952 as a cockpit instrument for pilots, drivers such as Graham Hill and Jim Clark — both trained pilots — were known to wear the chronograph in the air and on the racing circuit.
The new limited edition places the Navitimer firmly back in a motorsport context. Produced in 1 959 pieces — a reference to Aston Martin’s first Formula 1 entry — the watch features a lightweight titanium case, a carbon-fibre dial, and accents in Aston Martin Racing Green and lime, reflecting the team’s racing livery.
Through the sapphire caseback, the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 is visible — a COSC-certified chronometer with a 70-hour power reserve. The rotor carries the Aston Martin Formula One Team logo, while the caseback is engraved “One of 1959” and “Instruments for Drivers”.
The Breitling logo will appear on the Aston Martin Aramco car and team apparel during the 2026 season, debuting at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in March.
