Cape Town was celebrated for its abundance of flavours and influences including African, Dutch, Malay and Indian cuisine in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2024. “Amble along the waterfront and nurse a crisp glass of wine while steaks and fresh seafood sizzle in the kitchen, or get in on the viniculture at Babylonstoren, the celebrated vineyard in the Cape Winelands,” writes the publication.
The Mother City beat out top contenders including Milan (2), Valencia (3), Tokyo (4) and Porto (5). Cape Town scored 95.65, representing the overall level of satisfaction of readers who voted in the awards.
