Dino Moran is a leading figure in modern dance music, renowned for bringing the sound of African House to a global audience. His career spans performance, production, and innovative design, influencing spheres from fashion to architecture.
As an early exponent of the genre, his productions have featured on international labels including Defected, Pacha, and Perfecto. He has performed in 51 countries, from Ibiza’s superclubs to London’s Ministry of Sound, alongside acts such as Carl Cox, Faithless, and Black Coffee. His live show, House of the Holy Afro, sold out venues across 18 countries, including a 28-show run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The fashion industry has frequently drawn on his talent for creating atmosphere. Dino has been music director for 28 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks and four New York Fashion Weeks, providing sound for over 1 000 designers. His original work has soundtracked campaigns for Levi’s, Nike, and Hugo Boss. It led to notable collaborations, including opening New York Fashion Week with Grace Jones.
Beyond performing, Dino is a recognised figure in event production and acoustic design. His work on the ERA nightclub in Cape Town, for which his company handled the sound system and acoustic engineering, contributed to its recognition as one of the world’s top clubs. His firm, All AV Africa, represents brands including Pioneer DJ and Funktion-One, providing technical production for luxury events.
He also designs the acoustics and music playlists for chef Peter Templehoff’s award-winning restaurants, including FYN in Cape Town, ranked among the world’s best.
In a characteristically unconventional move, Dino performed a live set aboard a commercial airline flight on New Year’s Eve 2025, before landing in Zanzibar for a sunrise performance. His clientele spans private and corporate patrons, including 39 world presidents.
