It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for the team at YourLuxury Africa, the new home of luxury. Founded in August, the multi-platform media house has burst onto the luxury scene with the launch of a website, a beautiful Special Edition in November and the first of our glossy monthly editions this month.
In celebration of our launch, the team from YourLuxury Africa hosted friends and partners for a cocktail evening in partnership with Honor cognac, Royal Flush Gin, Proper Twelve whiskey,Vigne d’Or wines and the evening’s magnificent venue, the Melrose Gallery.
Speaking at the launch of YourLuxury Africa, MD Yvonne Shaff said the luxury industry’s support for the new media house had demonstrated a sincere vote of confidence in print and women in business. Yvonne and business partner, former magazine editor Jacquie Myburgh Chemaly, have joined forces in the establishment of the new media platform. Yvonne added that the lesson most learnt over the last few exhilarating weeks had been that relationships matter as well as having a passion for what one does.
Editor in chief Thembalethu Zulu outlined YourLuxury Africa’s new approach to luxury which was grounded in an appreciation of personal taste and style and an understanding of the world around us. She said that YourLuxury Africa was a place for like-minded people to share in luxury in different ways – from beautiful things, to experiences as well as how they choose to spend one of the greatest luxuries of all: Time.
Go-to events curator, Vicky Crease and her team saw to the delicious menu and elegant decor, while the gallery’s latest exhibition Corps de P@ges by Jean David Nkot formed the backdrop to the launch party.
