Here are seven of the most exciting new hotels and lodges set to open their doors across Africa this year.
1. Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari — KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Undoubtedly the most anticipated debut of the year for South Africa, Club Med will launch its first African resort on 4 July 2026. The ambitious R2-billion Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari introduces an innovative dual-destination concept, uniquely blending a premium beach holiday with a classic safari adventure.
To complement the beach stay, guests can book a one- to three-night extension at an exclusive safari lodge in the Mpilo Private Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal, approximately four hours by road or a 45-minute flight from the beach resort.
Located on a pristine 32-hectare stretch of the Dolphin Coast at Tinley Manor Beach, the property promises the signature all-inclusive excellence of Club Med, reimagined for the African context.
