The Strength and Spirit of High Glamour

Francesca Amfitheatrof’s latest dramatic collection is the final chapter in the Spirit series created by Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for watches and jewellery.

Francesca Amfitheatrof, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for watches and jewellery, has revealed the final chapter of her Spirit series – her fourth high jewellery collection for the Maison and made exclusively in the Parisian ateliers. Titled Spirit Chapter II, the new collection reflects the values and design codes of the house.

Spirit chapter II extends the idea of “jewels of armour”, shielding the wearer’s identity and soul as she bravely ventures into the world. “I don’t think anything else in the world has the power to hold the spirit of the person so much as jewellery does,” Amfitheatrof said.

This collection is developed under four universes: Destiny, Liberty, Fantasy and Radiance. Each radiates with a strong and graphic design language and expresses the designer’s belief that jewellery and its wearer are firmly linked.

Destiny channels the dynamism of the Louis Vuitton Maison and features 34 rubies contrasting with a yellow gold and platinum necklace. Finding the perfectly matched rubies for colour, intensity and purity for this creation took three years. The Destiny collection includes a bracelet with a delicate lace-like pattern, matching open latticework ring and earrings.

The Liberty range is about the freedom to explore, travel and expand one’s horizons. Custom-cut diamonds are shaped to create V-shapes in this collection, overlaid with hinge motifs from the iconic LV trunk. One necklace incorporates a rare 4.84ct Colombian no-oil emerald and a 2.02ct monogram flower cut diamond. Another bold medallion necklace transforms into a brooch, while a third features a trunk-style pendant that unlocks and expands.

In the Fantasy collection, the pioneering spirit of Louis Vuitton is expressed in a chevron pattern achieved by intertwining yellow gold V’s with pave diamonds. The necklace features two LV monogram star cut diamond accents and can be worn in three ways while the cocktail ring sparkles with a 15.31ct oval-cut yellow sapphire.

A five-strand cuff-style bracelet and ultra-modern ear cuffs complement a striking new Radiance necklace. Its mirrored yellow-gold form and bold graphic design highlight the warmth of a 17.48ct Mandarin Spessartite garnet.
