Ever dreamed of sailing the world while living on a luxury yacht? To experience life among an international community of adventurers on the world’s largest private residential yacht, consider including a visit to Cape Town or Durban in your travel itinerary. TheWorld, the only ship of its kind currently in operation, will be stopping at these two cities as part of its 2024 journey spanning six continents.

The World offers an ultra-luxury lifestyle at sea, with owner residences ranging from studio to three-bedroom houses, complete with all service amenities, as well as six restaurants, onboard golf putting greens, a state-of-the-art golf simulator and pro, the only full-size, regulation tennis court at sea, swimming pools, a spa, a fitness centre (complete with personal trainers), library, cinema, and hobby and games rooms. You can even move your personal wine or art collection into your maritime home! Residents of The World also have the opportunity to join the extraordinary voyages around the world, travelling to more than 100 ports a year.

The ship’s arrival in Cape Town in February comes after an expedition to Antarctica in January and a two-week journey to South America in February. Following a visit to the volcanic islands of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic Ocean, it will arrive in Cape Town where residents and guests aboard will have the chance to disembark for a few days to explore Cape Town and the Winelands.

After departing from Cape Town, The World will sail along the South African coast, spending time in Mossel Bay, before setting sail for Durban, and leaving in March, as it continues its journey along Africa’s east coast. The global travellers will experience Mozambique, Zanzibar, Kenya and the Seychelles before the ship sets its course for a four-month exploration of Asia.

“In my opinion, having a private apartment on The World is far better and less challenging than the responsibilities associated with private ownership of one’s own super yacht,” says one South African resident who calls The World home.

While The World is in port in Cape Town and Durban, prospective buyers have an exclusive opportunity to meet with a Residential Advisor and there are limited guest stays available for qualified prospective residents, pending a pre-arrival background screening and satisfying The World’s net worth requirements.
