Cape Town’s luminous energy finds a perfect counterpart this December as YourLuxury Africa explores Veuve Clicquot’s celebrated photographic exhibition, Emotions of the Sun. In collaboration with the legendary Magnum Photos agency, the maison brings a global dialogue on light to the creative heart of Bree Street.
From 4 to 21 December at Youngblood Gallery, the exhibition presents 40 extraordinary works by eight Magnum photographers, each interpreting the sun’s emotional and creative force. The selection spans five continents and features luminaries such as Steve McCurry, Cristina de Middel, Trent Parke, and a poignant homecoming from South Africa’s own Lindokuhle Sobekwa.
“Cape Town, with its radiant light and vibrant creative community, embodies our solaire spirit perfectly,” notes Thomas Mulliez, President of Veuve Clicquot. The city’s dynamic energy provides a fitting backdrop for this collection, which moves from the meditative to the joyous, exploring light as a universal connector.
Beyond the visuals, the experience is immersive. The Sun in Your Plate Café offers a curated menu by local culinary talent Seth Shezi, designed to pair with Veuve Clicquot’s sunny cuvées. A dedicated gifting boutique also allows for personalisation of maison collectables.
Tickets, at R200 via howler.co.za, include exhibition access, a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, and entry to the café and boutique.
