We’re giving you the chance to win tickets to the 2025 L’Ormarins King’s Plate. A true highlight of the Cape Town social scene, the event is held on the first Saturday in January and is named after the silver plate first presented by Queen Victoria back in 1861.
It is the first Gr.1 race of the new year and will see the country’s top thoroughbreds competing for R3-million.

A hat extravaganza
Okapi has partnered with Millerner for an exclusive headwear collection and this year, include a selection of further accessories, and menswear, created exclusively with artwork from the Zimbabwean artist Whitney Halsted.
Alongside the hats, fascinators and bands made by Lyndon Miller of Millerner, a collection of silk scarves, and mens’ accessories including ties, bowties, cufflinks, and boutonnières, extend the range.
Each of these pieces incorporate features from a series of watercolours created by Whitney using natural Lapis Lazuli foraged and hand-ground from a natural Southern African source.
