Curated by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Private Office Dubai, this one-of-one Phantom Extended draws inspiration from the intricate geometry of mashrabiya latticework, a signature feature of traditional Middle Eastern homes and palaces. Historically carved from wood, mashrabiya screens create privacy while allowing light and airflow, balancing beauty and function.
In Phantom Arabesque, this timeless design language finds new expression across multiple surfaces of the motor car.
The most striking interpretation appears on the bonnet — the first in Rolls-Royce history to feature a fully laser-engraved surface. Developed over five years by the Exterior Surface Centre, the newly patented process takes inspiration from the Italian sgraffito technique. Artisans apply a darker base coat, seal it beneath layers of clear lacquer, and then add a lighter top layer. The mashrabiya pattern is engraved with microscopic precision to a depth of just 145–190 microns, revealing the darker tone beneath.
The result is a three-dimensional surface alive with texture, catching the light in subtle shifts as one moves around the car. Each engraved section is hand-sanded to ensure consistency, integrating the pattern within the paint rather than applying it on top — a testament to the marque’s pursuit of perfection.
Presented in a bespoke two-tone finish of Diamond Black and Silver, Phantom Arabesque is further distinguished by a single hand-painted coachline featuring a mashrabiya motif, an illuminated Pantheon grille in Dark Chrome, an uplighted Spirit of Ecstasy, and 22-inch part-polished alloys.
Inside, the Gallery — spanning the full width of the fascia — houses intricate marquetry crafted from Blackwood and Black Bolivar, echoing the geometric theme.
Selby Grey and Black leathers, embroidered headrests, Starlight Doors, and illuminated treadplates complete the interior’s restrained elegance.
