Over the years, we’ve seen several partnerships between car manufacturers and fashion brands, such as Bugatti’s collaboration with Hermès, and Maserati’s association with Ermenegildo Zegna. A few of these brands have also forayed into the world of home furnishings and furniture design too. Bentley has its own range of home furnishings, made in collaboration with the Luxury Living Group, while Aston Martin has a range of luxury interiors and accessories in partnership with Formitalia. Now, the latter British carmaker has announced a collaboration with Japanese luxury real estate brand Vibroa. And renderings of the first ultra-luxury mansion to come out of the partnership have been released.

Called Nº 001 Minami Aoyama, the first home in Asia designed by Aston Martin is being built in the upmarket Omotesando area of Minami Aoyama, considered to be one of Tokyo’s foremost architectural and style centres.

The private mansion features an automotive gallery, wine cellar, home cinema, gym, and private spa, with Aston Martin’s design principles reflected throughout the property. The exterior design of the home is led by Aston Martin’s designers in collaboration with a local architect. The British marque is also responsible for the interior styling of the property as well as selecting its furniture.

The four-storey home has a roof terrace that offers spectacular views of Tokyo, and is set for completion by November 2023. The property, which is Aston Martin’s first real estate design collaboration in Asia, has already been sold to a private buyer.

Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin said: “The influence of Tokyo culture, with its amazing history and style, holds an important creative space within our design studio. I see fashion, architectural and even culinary references being considered by our team when developing their work, so its presence can really be felt within our practice. We thought we would return the favour through our first ultra-luxury collaboration in Asia with Vibroa by tailoring our Aston Martin real estate design principles specifically to the No. 001 Minami property.”

Reichman elaborated that the designers came up with an external architectural form with clean lines and seamless boundaries to help the residents better connect with the location. Meanwhile, the interior is said to be a calm and relaxing space that will help the residents “retreat”.

The new partnership is part of Aston Martin’s strategic growth plans in Japan, with the brand looking to make the most of the market’s massive commercial potential and boost consumer demand for its premium cars.

Greg Adams, Regional President – Japan and South Korea of Aston Martin said: “As Aston Martin grows in Japan, we are passionate about finding innovative ways to bring our ultra-luxury brand to life and resonate with local consumers. We are delighted to be working with VIBROA, helping create what we believe is a perfect home for an Aston Martin owner, with design elements inspired by our breathtaking portfolio of ultra-luxury and high-performance cars.”
