Swatch Makes Waves with New Scubaqua Collection

Inspired by the world’s most extraordinary jellyfish, the Swiss brand’s latest dive collection explores bold design and innovative materials.

Swatch is diving deeper into material innovation and design with the launch of the Scubaqua Collection – five bold new watches inspired by the world’s most remarkable jellyfish. Set to arrive in South Africa soon, the range continues Swatch’s scuba legacy that began in 1990, this time with a contemporary twist: a case structure made from a first-of-its-kind blend of Bioceramic and biosourced materials.

Each 44mm timepiece in the collection features a transparent dial, a colour-rich case, and luminous detailing for visibility in low-light conditions. The strap is smooth to the touch and designed for comfort and durability in and out of the water. Whether you’re heading for a dive or spending the day in the city, the Scubaqua stands out with its graphic lines, colour play, and considered construction.

The new material blend marks a significant milestone for Swatch. Bioceramic, first introduced by the brand in 2021, combines ceramic and biosourced plastic for a lightweight yet sturdy finish. In the Scubaqua, it appears in the solid-colour segments of the case, while transparent elements are made from plant-derived biosourced plastic. Together, these materials create a light, flexible watch with visual and functional depth.

The crown sits at 10 o’clock, a distinct feature designed for comfort and ease of use, especially when worn during water-based activities. The collection’s names and colourways – black, white, red, yellow, and blue – take cues from the jellyfish that inspired them. Each model has its own personality.

Rated water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres), these watches meet the demands of both leisure divers and design-forward collectors alike.

The Swatch Scubaqua Collection is available in Swatch stores nationwide and online at swatch.com.
