As the full moon rose over Sandton towards the end of September, guests gathered in a birds’ eye penthouse to sample, view and celebrate the luxury of great craftsmanship – and the time it takes to achieve. Our YLA Lounge hosts were Panerai watches and Remy Martin cognac – an exquisite match of heritage brands that have mastered the art of great timing.
The artistry and legacy that define both Panerai and Remy Martin are the fact that there is no rushing the creation of lasting luxury. Guests were invited to view and try on this year’s novelties from Italian watch maison Panerai, while sipping on Telmont champagne from the ancestral vines in Damery, France.
A considered menu from gifted Embarc chef Darren O’Donovan walked guests through the taste profile of the exceptional Remy Martin cognac that was also on offer. Later came the great reveal of the finely crafted bottle of Louis XIII. The iconic Remy Martin cognac, the rarest of all and often referred to as the Master of Time, is generations in the making. Guests were each treated to an exquisite dose of Louis XIII, delicately drawn from the bottle with a taster’s pipette.
Throughout the evening, guests were invited into the Panerai salon where a selection of the Italian watch maison’s latest collection was on display. The collection included the limited–edition Submersible Luna Rossa Carbotech – one of the most collectible Panerai watches right now.
Limited to a mere 37 pieces in celebration of the 37th America’s Cup yacht race, the Submersible Luna Rossa Carbotech embodies technical watchmaking at its best. This watch adorns the wrist of the Skipper and Team Director of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, Max Sirena, and is a limited edition that is sold out and already sought–after among collectors. “Our association with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team resonates deeply with Panerai’s maritime heritage and our pursuit of boundary–pushing performance. This partnership is a natural extension of our brand’s core values,” said CEO of Panerai, Jean–Marc Pontroué .
Designed and manufactured at the Laboratorio di Idee at the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâ tel, Switzerland, the Submersible Luna Rossa Carbotech was engineered and tested for the toughest conditions, epitomising Panerai’s dedication to durability, reliability, and functionality.
