Puma x Ahluwalia: A Love Letter to African Football

A vibrant second instalment of the collaboration celebrates the game’s energy, identity, and shared language across the continent.

So, Puma and Priya Ahluwalia have done it again.

If you missed the first drop, don’t worry – the second instalment is here, and it’s a whole vibe. Think of it as a love letter to African football culture. Because that’s exactly what it is.

The Vibe

Dropped at the end of April, the second instalment of the Puma x Ahluwalia partnership takes everything we love about the beautiful game and runs with it. Priya – who draws from her Indian-Nigerian roots – has woven her heritage together with Puma’s iconic sportswear DNA. The result? A collection that captures the raw energy, street-side swagger, and communal joy of football across Africa.

Think dusty pitches in Morocco. Think fans in Nigeria showing pride in ways that are as creative as they are passionate. Priya dove deep into Puma’s archives too, pulling decades of football artefacts to help reimagine classic silhouettes. The takeaway? Football isn’t just a sport. It’s a universal language. And this collection speaks it fluently.

The Gear

So, what are we talking? Puma staples like the V-S1 silhouette and the legendary T7 tracksuit have been given a vibrant makeover – eye-catching all-over prints, distinctive fabrics, and a colour palette that pops.

That all-over print featured on the track top and pants is designed to resemble a stadium packed with cheering fans. Clever, right? Then there’s a textured knit on the T7 top and skirt – featuring the unmistakable green from the Nigerian flag, finished with elevated embroidered logos. And don’t sleep on the graphic polo: oversized accents, gradient colour, bold statement.

The Little Extras

Accessories-wise, the Micro Grip Bag carries over that signature wave pattern (a nod to Puma’s Formstrip), while the baseball cap keeps things understated with a black colourway, lightweight texture, and a subtle Ahluwalia badge on the crown.

The Kicks

Now for the footwear. The Puma V-S1 drops in two versions. First up: a vibrant pan-African palette of red, yellow, black, and green. Then there’s a more subdued grey and black edition. Both are laceless, sleek, and inspired by early-2000s football design – specifically Puma’s V1 boot family, known for being radical and innovative.

The Good Stuff

The collection is made largely from recycled fibres. Ahluwalia and Puma’s development team spent significant time exploring new fabrication techniques and materials, meaning you can look good – and feel good about it too.

The Campaign

Shot in Morocco, the campaign comes to life through photography and a narrative short film. Sun-bleached walls. Sand-dusted streets. It’s emotional, raw, and a reminder that football is something that unites us – something we all share.
