Demna Sets the Stage at Gucci

In his first preview as creative director, Demna revisits Gucci’s archives to map out the visual language of the House’s next era.

Presented as a lookbook shot by Demna, Generation Gucci imagines a show that never was. It represents his ongoing research into the brand’s archival and visual codes across eras, weaving different generations of product into one aesthetic narrative. This work anticipates his personal vision for the House, to be fully revealed in February 2026.

The collection opens with lightweight tailoring in an archival silk faille, woven to simulate an aged hand-feel. Sartorial womenswear dispenses with buttons in favour of minimal clasps, seen across two-piece suits with legging-fit trousers and the definitive Gucci pencil skirt.

Minimal jeans feature seamless construction with invisible pockets, while refined silk travel suits offer the ease and comfort of pyjamas. Technical inspiration arrives in the form of surfer wetsuits, informing a mock-neck and a bodycon leather jacket.

Textured coats achieve the lightness of a peignoir, cut from intricate combinations of shearling, silk, goat hair and feathers layered over sheer bases. The party wardrobe features underwear-inspired garments paired with silk blousons, draped miniskirts, and fluid jersey gowns. Reimagining ’70s and ’90s signatures, racer jackets carry the Web stripe, while belts debut a sliced interpretation of the iconic Double G buckle. This is complemented by head-to-toe leather looks and equestrian-print silk ensembles inspired by archival scarves.
