As one of the world’s oldest supermodels, still gracing the covers of fashion, luxury, and beauty brands, 76-year-old Maye Musk knows a thing or two about beauty. Not only has Musk had an extensive career in the fashion industry spanning decades, but of course, she’s also the mother of South African-born Elon Musk – now one of the world’s richest men. Born in Canada and now based in the US, Musk was a long-time South African resident, once a finalist in the 1969 Miss South Africa beauty competition.

Celestial Black Diamond Lifting and Firming Face Mask
During a recent Vogue Beauty tutorial, Musk revealed she uses the Celestial Black Diamond Lifting and Firming Face Mask by 111Skin. The mask plumps fine lines and wrinkles, stimulating collagen production to improve volume while also re-texturising, lifting and firming the skin. “You have to look after your skin,” says Musk.
“Because otherwise, then you start looking in the mirror and not liking yourself, and we can’t have that.”
Dior Forever Cushion Powder
As an ambassador for Dior, Musk turns to Dior Forever Cushion Powder during her makeup routine. Formulated with wild pansy extract, the loose powder respects the skin and improves the quality of the complexion, leaving it with a velvety glow. “Powder has improved a lot over the years,” she says. “In the past, when you’d put powder on, it would cake all over your face, and now it just blends beautifully. I think the brushes are so much better too.”
Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Volumizing Liquid
For her famous grey locks, Musk credits an assortment of hair products by Paul Mitchell. On Instagram, Maye revealed she uses the brand’s Volumizing Liquid to instantly add volume to flat hair. It’s also the brand she used to embrace her natural hair colour.
“Many women are scared of going grey, but I wasn’t. I was scared I’d never model again,” she says.
Of course, celebrating the silver was the best thing she could do for her career. “As you see, it opened up the whole field of modelling,” she told Vogue.
La Mer The Lip Balm
After her regular beauty routine, Musk applies a coat of La Mer The Lip Balm. However, she loves the product so much, she keeps it nearby at all times. “I have to take it with me everywhere,” she admits. “If I’m not wearing lipstick, then I definitely need lip balm.”
Dior Forever Couture Luminizer
Another Dior product used in Musk’s online videos is the brand’s Forever Couture Luminizer highlighter powder, which leaves her with a more luminous complexion and enhances radiance. As a model, she reveals how the shimmer “catches the camera well, especially in photo shoots,” per New Beauty.
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush
For blush, Musk is a fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s products. “I put the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush just below my cheekbones,” she told Allure.
“I have big cheekbones – thank you, Mom and Dad – and sometimes I’ll even put some on my eyes just to add a little colour there before my eye makeup.”
Yves Saint Laurent Couture Brow Slim
Like many fair-skinned women, Musk has thin eyebrows and has to rely on products to draw and shape her brows. For this, she swears by Yves Saint Laurent’s Couture Brow Slim to bring out her arches. “I hardly have any brows, so I really need to do something about it,” she revealed in an online tutorial.
