The Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation (JCAF) in Parktown is currently showing Klaho, Sher-Gil Stern: Modernist Identities in the Global South. Featuring rare photographs of the artists and the objects that inspired their work, the exhibition explores the complex ways that Frida Kahlo, Amrita Sher-Gil and Irma Stern used their work to understand and deconstruct their identities and the environments they lived in. You’ll need to book a viewing slot on the JCAF website, but entrance is free. The exhibition runs until February next year, so don’t miss it.
