To me, luxury is the value I personally place on any item I buy.

My style is layered and quirky, but I don’t have a look as such. I always buy a great piece that works well –  a good coat in winter for example – because it makes anyone look chic and pulled together.

My style icon is Iris Apfel.

The fashion items I’m adding to my wardrobe this year are little to none; I’m re-using what I have and that’s in keeping with my philosophy of consuming less.

My signature scent is Montale White Aoud. It’s exactly the type of fragrance I love – powerful, almost masculine in its nature and leaves a beautifully light trail behind. I admit that I’ve got a bit of a weakness for perfumes and have quite a lot of them.

On most days I wear what I feel confident and comfortable in.

My watch is an IWC Portugieser, but sadly I don’t wear it often in the city.

The last thing I bought and loved is a pair of MM6 Margiela X Salomon sneakers.

I balance life and work by reading (currently Lessons by Ian McEwan), listening to podcasts and going to gym.

Our last holiday was in London when my daughter graduated in January.

When I need to feel inspired, I spend time around people who are creative and have expansive minds.

My best app is the Podcast one. Some of my favourites are I’m Not A Monster, Teacher’s Pet and Modern Love. I also like TikTok.

I’ve recently discovered the coolest Japanese selvedge denim and thrift store called Ifuku.one at 44 Stanley in Johannesburg.

The best advice I’ve ever received is that failure is part of life’s lessons.

My beauty essentials are Shu Uemura cleansing oil, Cerave Foaming Cleanser, Skineuticals Phloreton CF, Dermalogica Dynamic cleanser Skin Recovery SPF 50.

When I travel, I always pack sneakers and black clothes.

I enjoy eating at Tortellini D’Oro and Glenda’s.

Restaurant of choice – Glendas

For coffee with friends, I’ll go to Tortellini D’Oro, Father, The Patisserie or Pantry by Marble.

To keep fit, I go to the gym or take long walks with one of my best friends.

In the fridge, I always have macadamia milk.

My favourite room at home is my lounge; it’s sunny and comfortable and makes me feel as though I’m in a library.
