To me, luxury whispers and never shouts.

My style is brave and bold. I’m not very loyal to a particular look; I choose what I love and weave it into my life.

Three things I would like to add to my wardrobe this year are an Alabaste cashmere sweater in gold, another Guillotine dress (always my best and suits my body and personality perfectly). I would also love an Aldo Martin suit combination.

The best gift I have ever received is my sister Carla. She is absolutely the opposite of me, but a great and honest soundboard. We were born on the same day, and I could not imagine my life without her.

My most treasured possession is my life-sized ceramic rabbit made by Leora Lewis. It’s literally the rabbit of my crazy childhood dreams.

On my travel bucket list is Mexico, Iceland and Japan; I love the unusual and challenging.

I am inspired by the human condition.

If I could invite anyone to dinner, it would be the late Kenyan activist Wangari Maathai. I’m always inspired by people who work within the opportunities available to them to provide solutions for others.

In my jewellery box, I have everything and more! I’ve been collecting jewellery since I was three and love how it elevates any outfit. I have a few inherited pieces, have a  large vintage collection and of course, a fabulous Kirsten Goss one.

The art I would love in my home is an Edvard Munch painting, an Andy Warhol silkscreen, Conrad Botes prints and a Jane Alexander photomontage. I also love Marlene Dumas.

In my fridge I always have avocados, garlic, Italian parsley, bubbly and Parmesan.

I love shopping at Skins Cosmetics, Guillotine, Denham, Maven, the Huntress, Madisons and Missibaba. My most treasured clothing possession is my Missibaba swan belt.

When I need to unplug and unwind, I cook and walk if time permits. I do this in the bush or at the sea.

The best advice I have ever been given is to do what I love.

My ultimate winter meal is a robust roasted tomato soup served with an oozing toasted cheese and red onion. Simple, but my best every time.

On Sunday nights I go to bed early and set my intentions for the week.

The last song I downloaded was by Indie group Rupa and the April Fishes.

People don’t know this about me, but I’m quite introverted. I love spending time alone or in very intimate spaces.

The beauty products I can’t live without are Dermalogica Pre Cleaning lotion and the Daily Milkfoliant, Clarins Hand and Nail cream and Mac Girl About Town lipstick. I also can’t survive without a monthly facial and haircut, and a weekly manicure.
