To me luxury is an indulgence, something I derive comfort from.

My style icon is and will always be Rihanna. She is relatable in unrelatable ways and breaks boundaries effortlessly. You can try to imitate her style, but you can never duplicate it.

On most days , I wear jeans and a t-shirt. I dress my feet in sandals or sneakers and occasionally my favourite Louboutin loafers.

The last holiday I went on was to Montreux, Switzerland and I’m planning a trip to East Africa to visit my family.

I think fashion now is about identity and making a statement.

I’m reading Women, Race & class by Angela Y. Davis

In my free time I enjoy taking walks to soak up the culture of where I am. I also spend time watching music videos – I’m fascinated by the production and styling of the costumes and outfits.

The most beautiful boutique I’ve been to is Louis Vuitton in Portofino, but I loved all the little street boutiques there.

I collect wine and paper money from places that I have been to.

My most treasured possession is my passport. While I treasure many things, I’m also able to easily get rid of things I’m not emotionally attached to.

One thing I want to add to my wardrobe is a pair of black heels that I can casually wear every day – and Moscot sunnies.

The last gift I received was a 90-minute Oriental Bliss massage at Beau-Rivage Palace hotel in Lausanne. When I threw a surprise dinner for my sister’s 40th birthday, her reaction was a gift to me too

To keep fit,  I run and walk a lot. If I’m in Cape Town I hike and work out with my trainer four times a week.

Favourite restaurants: I’m a forever tourist in Cape Town. When I don’t want to think about a place to go, but still want to have a good time with a nice view, I go to Paranga Camps bay – the sunsets never get boring.  I enjoy Ariel for pasta and the warm vibe. When it comes to haute dining, I like Pier Waterfront or Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia.

Essential travel items: I always travel with my AirPods, a Bose mini speaker, two pairs of sunglasses and two pairs of heels. I need to work on remembering to pack a toothbrush!

The last song I downloaded is Unavailable by Davido ft. Musa keys.

Sunglasses and accessories: I wear Ray-Ban, Dior, Tom Ford, Chloe, Prada, Gucci and my latest pair is the studded Medusa Biggie by Versace. I prefer dainty jewellery and minimalistic bracelets, earrings and rings.

Essential beauty products: L’occitane’s Immortelle Precious Cream and the anti-ageing Immortelle Divine. I also use the  shea butter ultra rich body cream and almond supple skin oil.

Signature scent: There are three: Bulgari La Gemme Rubinia; Viktor & Rolf Lavender Illusion brings back beautiful memories, and my everyday scent is Dior Sakura.

The fashion items everyone should own are an evening dress in either black, red or beige, a trench coat, black blazer, boyfriend jeans, a pair of Samba or Gazelle Adidas sneakers and a  versatile pair of heels.

The last sneakers I bought are Nama by Chloé – 40 percent of their weight is made from recycled debris.

My guilty pleasure is eating sweet things – when I am happy, sad or tired.

My drink of choice is a G&T or a glass of sauvignon blanc.

When it comes to cuisine, I love Asian fusion.

An up-and-coming SA fashion designer I admire is fashion duo Mmuso Maxwell – they won the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation last year.

People don’t know this about me but I am a control freak.

In my fridge, I always have mushrooms, eggs, cheese, grapes and a bottle of nice white wine.
