Known for his unique style and charm, as well as his fast rise to fame, Timothée Chalamet is expected to bring a fresh energy to Chanel’s iconic men’s fragrance. It’s his first collaboration with Chanel and his first role as an official ambassador for a fashion or beauty label.

“Timothée Chalamet personifies the visionary and edgy spirit of the next chapter of Bleu de Chanel: a man who does not limit himself to the ordinary boundaries life sets and looks beyond what is visible,” said Chanel in a statement.

Chalamet has undoubtedly not limited himself. He put himself firmly on the radar in 2017 when he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor – the third youngest nominee ever in that category –  for the film Call Me by Your Name. And he has not stopped since then, having worked with some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed directors and performed to high acclaim in several movies, including Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird and Little Women, Felix Van Groeningen’s Beautiful Boy, Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, and most recently Guadagnino’s Bones and All.

Chalamet’s role as a face for Chanel has not halted his acting ambitions. Later this year, he will return to the screen in Dune: Part Two, take on the role of Wonka in the movie musical and portray Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown. And, of course, we will see him soon in the Bleu de Chanel campaign. The advertising campaign, shot by Mario Sorrenti, will be followed by the campaign film, directed by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese also directed the short Bleu de Chanel advertisement in 2010 featuring French Gaspard Thomas Ulliel, who was the face of Bleu de Chanel for 12 years. Ulliel died in a skiing accident in the Alps in January 2022.

Bleu De Chanel was created by the renowned perfumer Jacques Polge in 2010. It was the first men’s fragrance released by Chanel since Allure Homme Sport in 2004. A classic woody parfum, it has a freshness thanks to the vibrant top notes of bergamot, lemon and mint, while the base of cedar, tonka bean and amber wood imparts a classy, refined lasting trail.
