Lancôme introduced Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Serum earlier this year, 30 years after the launch of Rénergie Double Performance. As the name implies, Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Serum is an all-in-one triple dose – and the secret is the combination of active ingredients: hyaluronic acid, vitamins C and B3 and ferulic acid, which up to this release had been considered impossible to combine.
The aim? To act on three key signs of skin ageing: skin volume, wrinkles and dark spots.
Hyaluronic acid is known to absorb 1000 times its weight in water, so it’s a favourite ingredient because as it pumps moisture in, it helps to smooth and plump the skin. The hyaluronic acid used in this product lasts 13 times longer in the skin compared to standard hyaluronic acid. Then there’s a vitamin C derivative, which helps brighten the skin, and niacinamide (vitamin B3), which soothes and targets pigmentation. The plant-based ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant so its job is to protect the skin by strengthening its barrier.
To stabilise the ingredients and ensure optimal efficacy, there are three textures: the creamy texture contains the hyaluronic acid and gluco-peptides, the vitamins are in a light emulsion, while a clear gel texture protects the ferulic acid. But all you need to do is one pump and the ingredients are dispensed as one.
And there’s more…. It’s patented until 2038. It underwent more than 300 formulation trials and more than three years of development.
Verdict: At R2050, consider this an investment in your skin. Mine lasted me over four months and the day I couldn’t coax any more out was a tough one, because I was totally addicted by then. This made my skin look and feel smoother and the plumping effect was visible on application – my skin literally soaked it up. This is a real winner in an anti-ageing routine.
