It’s all about Lip Therapy

The new generation of hybrid beauty is picking up momentum as consumer demand grows for less-is-more – literally, from a sustainability perspective and figuratively, as the minimalist fresh-faced makeup trend continues. It’s also a given that the healthier your canvas, the better your make-up will look and last, and ideally whatever you put on your face is making a positive difference to your skin.

No stranger to innovation, Lancôme has given L’Absolu Rouge lipstick an enriching renovation, taking this to the top of our list. The iconic lipstick has been around for decades – the Le Rouge Absolu range made its appearance back in 1990 with L’Absolu Rouge following in 2008. Now the launch of L’Absolu Rouge Cream and Drama Matte heralds a new era for lips from the brand.

Key ingredients: Both L’Absolu Rouge Cream and Drama Matte are infused with Grand  RoseExtracts™, a blend of active molecules from the potent heart of a rose, as well as hyaluronic acid, which is known to absorb more than 1000 times its weight in water.

Benefits: Three roses make up the Grand Rose Extracts and collectively aid skin regeneration and healing, while having a soothing, anti-inflammatory action on the skin. (This is the same extract contained in the premium Lancôme Absolu range.) The L’Absolu Rouge Cream formula has a Moisture Lock Complex, for further hydration and protection, while L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte formula is enriched with Sublimatte Complex to ensure a non-drying matte effect.

The look: Both formulas are rich in pure pigments for lasting, intense colour. L’Absolu Rouge Cream gives a luminous creamy finish while L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte has a powdery, matte finish. The range comes in 30 shades.

Shop it: Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge (R530) is available at select Edgars, Woolworths, Foschini and Truworths stores, and Superbalist.
