My introduction to Brahman Hills came in March during the South African launch of Volvo’s all-electric ES90. Four months later, I found myself returning under very different circumstances, this time behind the wheel of Audi’s remarkable RS e-tron GT performance, the most powerful production Audi ever created and, at the time of writing, the only example in South Africa to have been tested by YourLuxury Africa.

Brahman Hills operates approximately 85 per cent off-grid through solar energy, saves an estimated 477 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, harvests rainwater, recycles greywater, and has replaced more than 36 000 plastic bottles with reusable glass alternatives. More than 1 500 trees have been planted across the property, while organic gardens, composting initiatives, and handcrafted Zulu-inspired beehives reinforce its commitment to biodiversity.

Travelling with my wife, two teenage daughters, and our two-year-old son, we checked into the newly introduced Duiker Villa. After a long drive from Gauteng, the two-bedroom villa provided the perfect environment to unwind after a rewarding day behind the wheel. Construction is underway on what is set to become the world’s largest labyrinth, spanning an impressive 22 hectares and forming the centrepiece of the estate’s ambitious Serenity Garden.
