At the intersection of art and fashion, comes this year’s most anticipated social event. The 2022 Zeitz MOCAA Gala Dinner + Party, supported by Gucci, is a fundraising initiative in support of African artists from across the continent.

Central to the event will be an exhibition that will showcase talent from around the continent. Titled: When We See Us: A Century of Black Figuration in Painting, this ground-breaking exhibition will expose audiences to the perpetuation, essence and reality of Black joy.

With luxury partners such as V&A Waterfront, Radisson Hotel Group, Hidden Valley Wines and BMW supporting the event, it’s no surprise that this is the museum’s largest development event of the year. The proceeds are expected to generate 30% of the annual exhibitions and education budget, a budget that is essential in supporting the institution and its promotion of art education and community engagement.

The theme of the event is “Art and Opulence,” with a focus on embodying what it means to be African, honouring the continent in all of its forms. Each aspect of the event – from the decor and cuisine, to the fashion and entertainment – will be expertly curated and a celebration that is set to be the epitome of elegance and opulence.

Entertainment will include deejays such as Capetonian, DJ Stunna, house-extraordinaire, NV Funk, and media personality and businesswoman, DJ Zinhle. Expresso presenter and radio personality, Thabiso Makhubela will be at the helm as emcee for the night.

With the purchase of a ticket, you can experience the fanfare first-hand while playing your part in supporting African art. To get your hands on a ticket to what is set to be one of the most unforgettable events of the year, (while contributing to a good cause) Click here.
